Dr. Jennifer Hartley, Fora Health’s Medical Director for Withdrawal Management, Innovation & Special Projects, was recently honored as a Saint by the Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, The Order of Benevolent Bliss.

We are proud to share that two of our esteemed doctors, Dr. Jennifer Hartley and Dr. Eowyn Rieke, were recognized earlier this month as Top Doctors in Addiction Medicine in Portland Monthly’s 20th annual list of the metro area’s top medical providers, as chosen by their peers!

Withdrawal Management, commonly called “detox”, is designed to ensure a safe and medically supervised transition through the most intense phase of withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol. In this phase, known as acute withdrawal, a person can expect to be in withdrawal management for an average of 3-5 days. The length of stay varies from person to person and depends on use history and type of substance.

“I was diagnosed with depression at a very young age. Beginning in my teens, I experienced a lot of loss in my life. I always felt afraid that my relationships would fall apart and disappear from my life. It was hard to create true connections with that fear looming over me. I felt like I was doomed to be alone.

Our outpatient program has similar treatment elements as our residential inpatient program but offers flexibility so patients can  remain living in their home during their treatment.
