Kelsie Crippen


Kelsie is an associate attorney with the boutique litigation firm, Markowitz Herbold PC. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a Law Clerk for the Oregon Supreme Court. While clerking, Kelsie assisted with drafting judicial opinions authored by Chief Justice Walters. She also helped Chief Justice Walters in her efforts to establish statewide policies and procedures for Oregon courts during the COVID-19 crisis.

Before clerking for Justice Walters, Kelsie also served as a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice’s Solicitor General’s Office. While there, she drafted dozens of appellate briefs and argued cases before the Oregon Court of Appeals.

Kelsie graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law among the top three percent of her class. During law school, she received the Jeannette M. Lavender Exemplary Leadership Award for my work as a Managing Editor of the Oregon Law Review. Kelsie also served as the Director of the Oregon Women’s Law Forum.

Kelsie worked as a judicial extern for Judge Jolie Russo of the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.
