Gratitude from a Fora graduate

When we asked Fora Alumni if they would be willing to write a note of gratitude, Valarie didnโ€™t hesitate. She jumped at the chance to share how Fora and our donors made a huge difference in her life and continues to make a difference every day.

“I want to give you my deepest gratitude for supporting Fora Health and making a difference in my life.

When I first walked through the doors at Fora Health, I was broken, scared, and unsure of what the future would hold. As my addiction weighed heavily on me, I kept thinking, โ€œDo I even deserve the opportunity to heal in residential treatment?โ€

What I found at Fora was so much more than just treatment. I saw people who believed in me even when I didnโ€™t believe in myself. I learned the importance of connection, of showing up, and of living each day with purpose. For the first time, I started living life for myself, as if every day truly mattered, and I discovered a purpose I never thought Iโ€™d have.

Today, I am healthy and sober. I have a great job and am giving back to my community. Iโ€™ve learned so much, and most importantly, Iโ€™ve learned not to give up when life gets hard. For that, I will always be grateful.

Thank you for giving generously and helping me rebuild my world. Your donations supported the facilities, staff, programming, and many other aspects that make up the wraparound care I, and so many others, received at Fora.

Your generosity is transforming lives and helping people, like me, find hope, healing, and an opportunity to create a better future.”
