Thanks to everyone who came to the 23rd Annual Freedom Awards!
It was a packed house, and we saw incredible engagement from attendees that fostered a feeling of hope and promise for the future of addiction treatment in Oregon. You can view photos from the event here.
We greatly appreciated Senator Kate Lieber for her rousing and motivational keynote. She talked about Oregon’s dire situation and the need for more mental health and substance use treatment facilities. She lauded Fora Health as a model for success in that field.
This year, we had the pleasure of honoring Judge Nan Waller with the Spirt of Advocacy Award and Izzy Alvarado with the Freedom Award.
Judge Nan Waller spoke about her passion and history of advocating for those with addiction and in mental health crises. You can watch her Spirit of Advocacy Video detailing her work here.
Izzy Alvarado spoke about his accomplishments and thanked everyone who made them possible. This video showcases the origins of Go The Distance (his nonprofit) and Izzy’s journey.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who generously gave to support Fora’s mission. We raised over $175,000! These funds are vital to ensuring Oregonians can access our high-quality services on their journey to recovery!
Thanks to our partners who supported our paddle raise – Harry Wilson, Coral Construction, Lines for Life, Moda Center and the Standard (who generously matched every gift at $250 up to $5,000). If you didn’t get a chance, you can still give online here: https://forahealth.org/donate/
