Big progress is happening on site this week at Fora Home, our new housing facility on schedule to open later this year! Weโve officially poured the foundation, an exciting milestone that brings the structure one step closer to reality.
At our ground breaking event (January 9, 2026), Councilor Candance Avalos, Anthony Jordan, Multnomah County Interim Behavioral Health Director, Ashley Thirstrup, Chief of Staff & External Relations Division Director at Oregon Health Authority, Sarah Brewer, CEO of Trillium Community Health and Devarshi Bajpai, CEO of Fora Health all spoke about the importance of this new facility to the city of Portland.
Located adjacent to Fora Healthโs treatment center in Southeast Portland, the new 20,000-square-foot housing project will provide individuals transitioning from substance use disorder treatment with stable housing and the support they need for long-term recovery.
โThis new supportive housing allows us to address both the addiction and housing crises in our community by providing individuals with the secure environment they need after completing treatment. We will also provide a secure environment for individuals in recovery and offer them a comprehensive continuum of care, supporting each patientโs journey. We look forward to helping people in recovery build stronger foundations for their futures and give them the tools they need to successfully reintegrate into the community.โ
Devarshi Bajpai, Fora Health CEO
The project includes the development of a 20,000-square-foot housing building, in partnership with Multnomah County, Oregon Health Authority, Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF), Centene Foundation, Trillium Community Health Plan and Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund. The housing will have 23 rooms and 46 recovery housing beds.
Providing patients with a stable housing environment will allow them to find employment, establish savings, and transition into permanent housing solutions. Fora Health will offer clinical support, including intensive outpatient therapy, peer specialists, and counselors, ensuring individuals receive the care they need during this critical phase of recovery.
Itโs incredible to see everything starting to take shape. Stay tuned for more updates as we keep building momentum!
