Introducing Fora Health, a healthcare nonprofit providing treatment, care, and advocacy for all who are affected by substance use disorder. Formerly De Paul Treatment Centers, Fora Health builds on nearly five decades of experience and excellence delivering individualized care plans to support people and families in recovery. The new name is a renewed promise to our region, to offer exceptional, comprehensive care while also introducing an unmatched facility, deepening long-standing partnerships, and engaging the public in education and advocacy.
The process of planning our new campus got us thinking about who we are and who we want to be to best serve our patients and our community. We re-examined what makes De Paul Treatment Centers a trusted partner for recovery, and we expanded on that vision. As in all great stories, our next chapter starts with people – the ones we care for and the ones we work with. At Fora Health, people will find treatment that is patient-driven, compassionate, comprehensive, cost-effective, and connected. Our new facility and strategic direction will expand our ability to address substance use and mental health concerns, all while breaking down the stigma associated with behavioral health care. In October 2021, we will relocate our downtown services to our new campus in Portland’s SE Gateway District. Our new brand and headquarters combine to help us excel at what we do best – creating hope and health through evidence-based treatment and individualized whole-person care.
Why the name Fora?
Fora Health is more than just a name, it has deeper meaning. Though not used today, Fora is plural for the Latin word, “forum”. Fora conveys that we are a place in which differing personalities, ideas and approaches come together for the collective growth of individuals and their communities. Fora Health feels active and healthy in and of itself – inviting all to contribute to the betterment and well-being of our community and each other.
