For over 20 years, the Freedom Awards brings together a diverse audience of community members, businesses, elected officials, and non-profits to talk about addiction, celebrate recovery and support our treatment programs for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This event recognizes community members who support and work toward ending the stigma of addiction.
This year’s recipient of the Samuel C. Wheeler Freedom Award is Representative Tawna Sanchez who has been a behavioral health champion in the legislature and helped to lead the Oregon’s recent historic investment to support those who struggle with addiction and mental health conditions. We will also honor Representative Rob Nosse and Senator Kate Lieber with the Spirit of Recovery Advocacy Award for their legislative leadership and work as behavioral health champions.
We are requesting that guests attending the Freedom Awards be fully vaccinated. Also that guests should not have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone who has COVID-19 within 10 days of the event. The Oregon Health Authority still recommends masking for people at higher risk from COVID-19, including unvaccinated people and immunocompromised people. We highly encouraged all people attending the event to wear a mask. In addition we have supplemental safety protocols in place, such as hand sanitizing and social distancing. You acknowledge that you are aware of the risks involved with attending this event during the COVID-19 pandemic and are choosing to do so of your own accord. You agree to waive and release Fora Health, Inc. from liability for any claim related to COVID-19.
Fora Health will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Services will continued to be provided for the Residential and Withdrawal Management (Detox) patients in our care, however we will not admit to any programs, provide outpatient services, and our lobbies are closed.
