DESCRIPTION:Event Details (In-Person or Virtual)\nThursday\, April 28\, 2022\, 11:30 to 1:00 pm\nSentinel Hotel | 614 SW 11th Ave\, Portland\, OR 97205\nTickets can be purchased in-person at the door. \nStream Virtual Program Here! \nFor over 20 years\, the Freedom Awards brings together a diverse audience of community members\, businesses\, elected officials\, and non-profits to talk about addiction\, celebrate recovery and support our treatment programs for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This event recognizes community members who support and work toward ending the stigma of addiction. \nThis year’s recipient of the Samuel C. Wheeler Freedom Award is Representative Tawna Sanchez who has been a behavioral health champion in the legislature and helped to lead the Oregon’s recent historic investment to support those who struggle with addiction and mental health conditions. We will also honor Representative Rob Nosse and Senator Kate Lieber with the Spirit of Recovery Advocacy Award for their legislative leadership and work as behavioral health champions. \nLearn more about our honorees. \nThank you to our sponsors! \n \nWe are requesting that guests attending the Freedom Awards be fully vaccinated.  Also that guests should not have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone who has COVID-19 within 10 days of the event. The Oregon Health Authority still recommends masking for people at higher risk from COVID-19\, including unvaccinated people and immunocompromised people. We highly encouraged all people attending the event to wear a mask. In addition we have supplemental safety protocols in place\, such as hand sanitizing and social distancing.
